![]() Welcome to the Maywood Fire Department
The Maywood, NJ Fire Department is a 100% all-volunteer fire department located in Bergen County. Situated less than ten miles from New York City, the 66 volunteers proudly serve our 9,800 residents. All firefighters are fully trained in a extensive course conducted by the Bergen County Fire Academy. The fire department response area of 1.3 square miles includes residential, commercial, and industrial structures as well as the state highways. The department is assisted by a 20 person fire police unit. The department responds to an average of 250 calls including structure fires, activated smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, mutual aid assistance to surrounding communities, flooding, downed electric wires, and motor vehicle accidents. The apparatus includes a 1995 tower ladder truck, a 1995 pump truck, a 2008 pump truck, a rescue truck, and a 2003 fire police utility truck. Regardless of the emergency, the volunteers of the Maywood Fire Department stand ready to serve our community.
